Most of the rubber tappers are a father (and mother) to son. The shrimp and fish, however, is a relatively new industry, created under an economic development program for rural communities left behind by the major fisheries.

The company has been beneficial, since Thailand is one of the leading countries in the export of farmed shrimp. However, until recently, cultured fish were largely deregulated, leading to many environmental problems, water pollution and destruction of mangroves in particular.

Tourism is undoubtedly the industry whose impact on the economy of the region was the strongest, transforming many small businesses in villages bilingual. Women who would otherwise sell products on the market, have learned the traditional techniques of massage, and working in Bangkok or haunt the beaches of Koh Samui in search of customers. Other small businesses the same kind, so prolific in Thailand, were tailor-made for tourists along the streets along the waterfront, offering a host of stands and sunscreen and postcards rather than alcohol rice and grilled fish, street vendors sell sarongs and henna tattoos instead of dusters (in real feathers) and broom corn, and fishermen sometimes abandon their nets for bigger catches - snorkeling excursions Koh Tao for tourists.

throughout the country, the middle class is growing over the decades, bridging the gap between rich and poor. Thailand does not suffer from poverty in the classic sense - even the most destitute Thais has a roof and food. People down the social scale, however, have not the means to provide an education worthy of the name to their children, purchase of material goods or money to devote to their health. Some numbers are more impressive: the average annual income is about 2 000 USD, but many people in rural areas, who earn only $ 570 USD per year.

The craft of travel to vietnam, laos, cambodia and thailand

In the world of tourism are often responsible travel agencies offering voluntourism trip to such a degree of respect for local populations and above notion of participation.

the travel agency in Buffalo Tours Vietnam was awarded the prize by the "Face of the Future" for his involvement in the development of tourism in particular labeled especially with its custom travel in Vietnam but also with volunteer projects and volunteers of poverty reduction and development of remote areas.

A trip to Laos in particular caught our attention, named River project Seuang she gathers a community of several village which will benefit directly and indirectly contributions of travelers who will join this project travel. Sino-Thai festival is held during the ninth month of Chinese lunar calendar and this year it will be held from October 8 to 16. Its most fascinating is the procession from shrine to shrine of my song.

The devotees are my song, mediums inhabited by Gods-emperors, who self-harm. These acts of self-harm are varied. Some ma song walking on hot coals, others climb on ladders laced with blades or introduce objects under the skin of the face or arms. Most pierces the cheeks of metal spikes but saw blades, guns, tools and household objects are also used. As horrific as these may seem mutilation, my song in a trance state that they feel no pain.

Phuket Tourists can watch the procession from temple to temple, which begins Sunday, October 10 at Sapam sanctuary, just a few kilometers from Phuket Town, on the southeast coast of the island. Every day, ceremonies are held in a different sanctuary and spectators have the chance not only to witness one of the most amazing events in Thailand but also to admire some of his most beautiful Taoist temples. The last night of the festival is marked by a superb and very noisy fireworks, the noise is supposed to scare away evil spirits.

As might be expected, participants must follow a strict vegetarian or vegan diet, not drinking alcohol and obey strict rules in order to gain spiritual purity, hygiene and merits.

Travelers who want to try the Thai vegetarian cuisine during the festival will have no problem to find. Both malls as street vendors prepare the ahaan jeh (vegetarian) and the mark of a red and yellow sticker. Some vegetarian dishes are popular gui chai (glutinous rice dumplings with chives), the goy see mee (noodles similar to Japanese soba) and poh PIAH jeh (vegetarian spring rolls).

For the 2010 Phuket Vegetarian Festival, Agoda has secured special rates on selected hotels on Phuket.
